November 12, 2009, Philadelphia Inquirer — Seven of the region's most venerable nonprofit groups have formed an unusual fund-raising consortium in response to the loss last year of United Way support.
The organizations - which include the local branches of the Salvation Army, the YMCA, and the Boy Scouts - will launch a joint marketing effort today and are exploring cooperation in other areas, as well.
