Online Giving Grows 23 Percent, Blackbaud Reports
July 15, 2010“Blackbaud has been engaged with supporting online giving for nonprofits for more than a decade now,” said Steve MacLaughlin, Blackbaud’s director of Internet solutions, in a press release. “The Blackbaud Index of Online Giving is the next step in sharing trends and insights into what is happening in the nonprofit sector.”
The index also found that three-month online revenue for small organizations increased 13.1 percent in May, 21.3 percent for medium organizations and 28 percent for large organizations.
“The 23 percent increase in online fundraising revenue revealed by the first edition of the new Blackbaud Index of Online Giving, along with additional new data showing that retention of online-acquired donors is almost as good as for mail-acquired donors, provides some good news in a generally dismal fundraising time,” said Nick Allen, chief strategy officer of Donordigital, in the press release.
