Please Don't Be A Margaret

This just in from a Twitter post: The third day of the third month is "Talk in Third Person Day."

Margaret has been doing this ever since she found out about it. And Margaret already is annoyed with herself. Talking like this made Margaret realize just how much she talks about Margaret. Margaret can't say the word "Margaret" over and over again without being acutely, embarrassingly aware of it.

Margaret's advice for Margaret, at least at the moment: Quit talking about Margaret so damn much. People in Margaret's life — even the ones who love Margaret  — don't really want it to be all about Margaret all the time. Margaret simply isn't that fascinating (to anyone other than Margaret, of course).

Margaret is trying to change.

Margaret wonders if the folks whose job it is to communicate with donors and other supporters are getting Margaret's point.

Haha, Karen likes this! She just got a thank you letter that said a lot of great things about what the organization is doing, but not nearly enough about Karen and how important her donation is.
